I think unopinionated software is literally impossible

You mean to tell me the software you made was founded on *zero* opinions? What then? Data? How can you be so sure the data wasn't biased based on opinions? The source of the data is almost certainly driven by opinion
|
|
|
|
Inevitably, not having an opinion, is the opinion that you shouldn't have one. Every decision you make in designing any software is gonna be driven by some sort of bias, some sort of opinion.
|
|
|
|
There will be software that embraces it, and for many, that software will easily replace whatever is 'mainstream', whatever is 'for everyone'
|
|
|
|
There are people that exclusively use software, even software that isn't text editors, with vim shortcuts. That is a bold opinion. It has huge followings on all fronts, and people rallying behind these concepts.
|
|
|
|
You're probably not gonna get many people behind rallying "X, The Everything Software" if everything fucking outdoes you.
|
|
|
|
But worse than that? Trying to shut down anything that is more opinionated. Honestly shut up. |
